GRACIAS
First of all I would like to thank you for taking time out
of your day to come and talk to our school. Even though I
don't know you, I feel where you're coming from homeboy. I'm
a youngster in the game trying to slowly but surely to get
out and be a productive member of the community that I live
in. I want to be a probation officer. I would like to work
in the Gang Department because I've lived the Life and I want
to help kids get on the right track once again, I would like
to thank you Homes. Your presentation was firme Bro.

Hey Thank you for coming over to Chamberland High School.
I thought at first you were still a gangster and that you
were just going to get other kids mad. When you were talking
about the three I was getting sad because that could be
me. but thank you for helping me look at the persons like
the same as me. It made me think that some day I will be
something Big.

Dear Mr. Lopez
Here at EJHS a lot of things needed to be cleared up. Every
day I see kids throwing their lives away because this is
"cool" or they think that is what it means to
be a man. I'm not saying I know what it means to be a man,
but I pretty sure it's not what they think it is.
I am also Mexican but I don't dress the way they do or
act the way they do. So I guess it doesn't make me one of
them.
I hope your talk helped those guys out and I'm not just
talking about the Mexicans. There are also the African Americans,
even the white kids. You also taught me not to judge by
appearance because when I first say you I was having second
thoughts.
Thanks.
Sincerely, Jesse Celaga

Mr. Lopez,
I'm writing to you to say Thank you for coming too Eastmont
Jr. High. I never would have thought gangs were that bad
-- now I think twice about claiming bloods or other things.
Now I also think how my boyfriend's live is going to end
up like because he's in gangs. I wish he could just get
out but it's not that easy. I really liked that story about
your friend. It really motivated me to think about my future
and what I want to be in life. Coming to the United States
from Mexico is hard. People look at us like we were animals.
But I know one day I'm going to show them how I really am.
Thank you for everything. I hope you can come next year.
See you soon.
[love] always
Jessica Villanueva

Dear Mr. Lopez
Thank you for sharing your story with Eastmont Junior High
School. I really enjoyed what you had to say. I'm really
sorry for the loss of your friend. I now know how dangerous
gangs are and now I'm going to talk to some people that
are in gangs. Your story made me think that violence doesn't
help you unless you are defending yourself.
Thank you again for coming to Eastmont Junior High to share
your story.
Sincerely,
Casey Moore

Thanks for coming and sharing at EJHS. I really liked your
Speech [about] all those things you went through and still
came out to be a good person. And becoming what you wanted
to be, a Doctor. I learned that I can be whatever I want to
-- even though things might seem hard and I really want to
just give up I will remember your story and how you dealed
with it.
Thanks from
Edith Martinez
